2 Months

Wow…where does the time go? I can’t believe that it’s been two months (and two days) since Sam came into our lives! As expected, our world certainly has been turned upside down, but I don’t think we’d have it any other way. Seeing the growth and development of a child, especially an infant, is an absolutely amazing experience.

I often find myself thinking about what Jacob or Caleb was like at the same age, but more often than not, I find that I’m not able to recall much more than a haze. Hopefully it won’t be the same with Sam. Of course, if I was a little more diligent, I’d keep this site a bit more up to date with what’s going on in Sam’s life, so that we’d have this as a reminder down the road.

We’ve experienced all of the typical things with Sam–the late nights, the middle of the nights, the early mornings, the leaky diapers, the spit up, the inconsolable crying, the coos and giggles, the ever increasing awareness of the world around him–and it’s all been a blessing. I will admit to wondering what I was getting myself into, when Sam joined us, but I’ve quickly fallen back into the routine of having a baby around again, and I’m enjoying every minute of it.

Before I end this lengthy post, let me give you the specifics of his 2 month well visit. Sam weighed in at 12 lbs., and measured 23 inches long (though he wasn’t really cooperating with the nurse who was measuring him–he didn’t want his legs straightened out). The doctor said he’s doing great, looks perfect, and is right on track. We agree!
